Your Book

Tell us about
your pet.

Take your time with this. Every detail shapes the book — there are no wrong answers, just be honest about who they are.

Let's begin 0%
Rowen Hollow
Your pet's
story
Your book is taking shape.

Before we begin.

So we know how to hold this book.

My pet is still with me
A portrait of their life, right now.
This is a memorial book
A celebration of the life they lived.
Question 1 of 13

What is your
pet's name?

Give them their full title for the cover — then tell us what you actually call them day to day.

e.g. "Oliver James", "Luna Marie", "Beau the Third"
Usually their first name, or a nickname they actually respond to
Question 2 of 13

What kind of
animal are they?

Select their species, then tell us their breed if relevant.

Dog
Cat
Rabbit
Horse
Bird
Other
Question 3 of 13

Age, nicknames,
and how they identify.

Sets the tone for the whole book — and makes sure we get the pronouns right.

He / Him
She / Her
They / Them
Question 4 of 13

How did you find
each other?

The origin matters — it's where the book begins. The details that feel insignificant to you are often the ones that make the first chapter ring true.

Even approximate is fine.
Breeder
Shelter or rescue
Stray we took in
A friend or family member
Born in the family
Other
Any detail — what they did when they first walked in, what you remember thinking, how old they felt in your hands. The more specific, the better the opening.
Question 5 of 13

Three words that
describe who they are.

Pick the three that feel most like them — you'll tell us more about what these look like in a moment.

Gentle
Mischievous
Loyal
Dramatic
Wise
Proud
Curious
Stubborn
Affectionate
Independent
Playful
Calm
Opinionated
Sensitive
Brave
Silly
One moment is enough. A scene is always better than a list.
Question 6 of 13

What are their
favorite things?

The more specific, the better. Brand names, nicknames for things, inside jokes — this is exactly what we need. "Mr. Angry Cat" and a Heinz Ketchup plushie tells a better story than "loves toys." What are the details only you would know?

Question 7 of 13

And what do they
hate?

The opinions they've made extremely clear. Often the funniest part of a pet's personality lives in what they don't approve of.

Be specific — "the vet" is fine, "the vet on the way in" is better.
Question 8 of 13

Who are the
people they love?

Not a list of names — tell us what they do. How do they greet you at the door? Who do they follow from room to room? What does your pet do with each person that's different from the others?

Question 9 of 13

What do they do
the same way, every single time?

The ritual so specific it almost feels like a person — the thing they do that's so them you could recognize them from it alone. Routines are the spine of a pet memoir. They're also the thing no one else can tell us.

If there's more than one, give us the most specific one.
Question 10 of 13

What words do
they always respond to?

The quick ones first — then the private ones. The words that only your household uses, or the specific phrase they respond to that nobody else would know.

Walk
Treat
Dinner
Park
Outside
Car
Ball
Squirrel
Bed
Bath
Question 11 of 13

One memory
that is entirely them.

A moment that perfectly captures who they are. Funny, tender, absurd — whatever comes to mind first.

Question 13 of 13

Anything else that would
help us tell their story?

Quirks, habits, funny small things, the way they sleep. Anything that didn't fit elsewhere.

One Last Thing

What should we
call their book?

Pick one of our suggestions, write your own, or let us choose something perfect based on everything you've told us.

Let Rowen Hollow
choose for me
or write your own

Help & FAQ

We've got answers.

Everything you need to know about creating your pet's book. Can't find what you're looking for? Email us at hello@rowenhollow.com

The Book
Not at all, and this is the most important thing to understand before you order. A Rowen Hollow book is a story, written in your pet's voice, about who they are and what their life has been. The photos you send us live on the author page (because every author needs a headshot) and help our team capture your pet's spirit as we write. The pages themselves are their story, not a photo timeline. You already have a thousand photos of your pet on your phone. This is something different: the book they'd write if they could.
A Rowen Hollow book is a bespoke coffee table book written entirely from your pet's point of view. You answer a questionnaire about their personality, quirks, and world — the more you share, the richer the story. We use that to craft a warm, witty narrative in their voice. It's printed on premium stock, hardbound in linen, and delivered to your door.
Our team crafts a bespoke narrative based on everything you've told us about your pet — their personality, quirks, world, and the people they love. Every book is unique to the animal it's about. No two are alike.
Any pet with a story worth telling — dogs, cats, rabbits, horses, birds, and beyond. If they've shaped your life, we'll help them tell it.
Photos are optional but encouraged. We recommend one clear portrait of your pet, which appears on the author page of the book. You can upload up to three photos if you'd like — additional ones may be used at our discretion when quality and composition allow. If you don't have great photos, the book is still beautiful — we use illustrated artwork in their place.
Each book is generated and produced to order. From checkout to your door, plan for 7 to 10 business days. We'll email you a shipping confirmation with tracking once your book is on its way.
Reach out to us at hello@rowenhollow.com within 24 hours of ordering and we can make adjustments. After that, your book may already be in production.
The voice and quality will match. The specifics will be entirely your pet's. Each book is one of a kind, generated from your questionnaire answers. No two are alike.
The Paperback Edition is 8.3" × 11.7" portrait (A4), 48 pages, printed on 120gsm Mohawk Superfine Eggshell. The Hardback Edition is 8.3" × 11.7" portrait (A4), 64 pages, printed on uncoated Mohawk stock. Both are PUR bound to lie flat on a coffee table.
Ordering
Plan for fifteen to twenty minutes if you want the richest version. Answer our questionnaire about your pet, review your answers, and check out. The more detail you give, the better the book. We handle the writing, design, printing, and shipping from there.
Absolutely — gifting is one of the most popular reasons people order. You can either fill out the questionnaire yourself about someone's pet, or purchase a Gift Card and let them do it at their own pace. Gift Cards are delivered instantly by email and never expire.
We begin work on your book promptly after your order is placed. If you need to make a change, email us at hello@rowenhollow.com within 30 minutes of ordering and we'll do our best to accommodate.
Due to the bespoke nature of our books, cancellations can only be made within 30 minutes of placing your order. After that, production has begun and we're unable to cancel. Please email hello@rowenhollow.com immediately if you need to cancel.
Shipping
We typically ship within 7–10 business days of your order. US orders generally arrive within 1–2 weeks of purchase. During peak periods (holidays, etc.) allow up to 3 weeks.
We currently ship within the United States, with international shipping coming soon. Sign up for our waitlist to be notified when we expand.
Free US shipping on orders over $100. Standard shipping otherwise; rates calculated at checkout.
Returns & Issues
Because every book is written and printed specifically for your pet, we're unable to accept returns. However, if your book arrives damaged or there's a printing error, we'll reprint and reship at no cost. Just email us a photo of the issue.
We want every book to feel completely right. If the story doesn't capture your pet the way you hoped, email us at hello@rowenhollow.com and we'll work with you on a revision before printing.
